Background

I started “Understanding Photography with Kim Ayres” while we were stuck in Lockdown back in early 2020.

Unable to get out and photograph people face to face, I thought I could put my knowledge of photography to good use by helping others to improve their’s.

Originally I thought it would last only a few months, but soon a community began to form with regulars from around the world – Texas, Ohio, Canada, India, and even Australia.

And to my surprise the milestones keep mounting up – 100th episode, 3rd year anniversary, 200th episode, 5th year anniversary.

It’s been said that one of the best ways to learn, is to teach – and I’ve found there to be truth in the idea.

The incredibly broad range of questions and topics I’ve been asked to cover has taken me far beyond my comfort zone so many times.

But it stretches me – and I have learned so much in the process, that has fed back into the continuing development of my photography business.
