Portrait Photography

Portraits are almost always for someone else – whether that is for work, business, promotion, family, dating sites, publicity, magazines etc

We want to give the right impression to the people who are going to be viewing the photos.

Unfortunately, most of us feel intensely self-conscious, and worry about all the bits we dislike about ourselves, the moment someone points a camera at us.

Photography can often feel like it’s something being done to us, whether we want it or not.

So we put on our best “camera face” and desperately hope it won’t be as awful this time, while fearing it probably will.

What we really want is to look strong, playful, intelligent, friendly or authoritative – and, if we’re honest about it, just a little bit cool.

Well I’m on your side. I think you should look the way you would love to. I want you to feel like the hero or heroine of your own photo shoot.

So we Collaborate!

Once we know the who, what, where, and when, we can make sure we have the right lighting, the right location, the right outfit, the right camera angles and, of course, the right expression

We’ll meet up over coffee to discuss and explore ideas and possibilities, and draw up a plan.

On the day of the shoot I tether the camera to a laptop or tablet so as I take the photo you can instantly see how it looks.

This allows me to train you in front of the camera: you can see what happens if you drop your shoulder, move your head, or I change the angle of the lighting.

Pretty quickly you start to relax and the photos of you just get better and better.

You learn how to never be frightened of the camera again

Price Guide

Until we have had the conversation to explore ideas, possibilities, and outcomes, it’s not possible to give an exact quote.

However, Portrait Photography starts from around £450 for head-shots and will then increase depending on the number of people and complexity of the shoot.

The price is generally agreed up front so you are not suddenly surprised by any hidden costs.

What you receive is the photos in high-resolution digital format so you can view, print, or share as often as you wish without having to pay extra.

There may be an extra fee for businesses wishing to resell any images (as t-shirts, jigsaws etc), but that can be negotiated.

No risk

Consultation, planning and exploring ideas are all completely free and without obligation.

And if for any reason you are less than delighted with the photos we will delete the images, and either reshoot at no extra cost or you will get a complete refund.

What Happens Next?

Call or WhatsApp me on 07971 969953, or email me at the address at the bottom of this page, and we can arrange to meet up for a coffee and chat to explore ideas.

There is no pressure to commit at this stage. If we agree to move forward, then great – but if not, then we’ve still enjoyed a coffee and a chat.
